Are you a Sliver & Fit member? You are you are entitled to access our fitness center and pool at no charge. Water Exercise classes at the pool are an additional fee. Land classes available to Silver & Fit members at no additional cost include; Zumba Gold, Tai Chi For Balance and Arthritis Exercise. SILVER & FIT MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN IN WHEN THEY USE THE FACILITY OR TAKE A CLASS. This program is for 65+ and is accessed through Medicare part B. Whether you desire to lose fat, gain strength or increase your cardio-respiratory endurance, our certified personal fitness trainer will design a personalized exercise regime for you and show you how to use the Fitness Center equipment to help you accomplish your specific goals.

NEW! Fat Blaster Intervals

Ages 21+. Turn your body into a calorie burning machine with this timed intervals cardio/resistance combo class.  We perform 8 to 10 different exercises, 20 seconds of work with a 10 second break.  8 cycles of each exercise.  Take a 1 to 2 minute break after completing the 8 cycles in order to bring you down to your recovery heart rate.  This is an awesome way to keep your metabolism fired up several hours post workout, and turn your body into a calorie burning machine.

Participate in a variety of group exercise classes by purchasing a punch card. The punch card allows you the flexibility to choose a class that meets your scheduling and fitness needs. The front office or instructor will punch your card so you will always know how many workouts you have left.

 

If you purchase a 26-punch card you will receive one free class. Punch cards do not expire and can be used term to term. Insanity Fitness

This revolutionary cardio-based total-body conditioning program is based on the principles of max interval training. Insanity ® pushes the participants to new training heights. Fall Tennis

The tennis program meets at the North Eugene High School tennis courts. Students may come at 5:30 or any time after that. The River Road Parks Tennis Program is open to players of all ages and experience levels, from novice to advanced. Activities taught include fundamentals, drills, rules, positioning, strategy, and singles / doubles games. All lessons are weather permitting. Additional lessons are available by arrangement. Pickleball

This racket sport is similar to badminton, tennis and racquetball. It is a simple paddle game played using a special perforated, slow-moving ball over a tennis-type net on a badminton sized court. Check the board in the lobby for any schedule changes.

Denise Thomas-Morrow blends alignment and breath work from the Alexander Technique, with variations on core and upper body strengthening exercises. This class also offers a unique exercise program that combines movement activities from evidence-based exercises or therapies aimed at promoting mental and physical functioning. Level 1. This 8-form Tai Chi derived from traditional 24-form set is based on scientific studies and is designed to help improve balance and prevent falls. All movements adhere to fundamental principles of Tai Chi: involving weight-bearing and non weight-bearing stances, good body alignment and coordinated movements with the inhale/exhale breathing cycle. Movements are taught in sets which can be performed separately and linked to form a sequential routine. Held at the Annex, 1055 River Road. Instructor: Don Hildenbrand.

Tai Chi Sword for Health & Fitness

108 Yang Style Tai Chi Form

Level 3. Learn the 108 Yang Style Form with supplemental training in Tai Chi Sword. Tai Chi Sword combined with Qigong (Internal Work) and Tai Chi principles improve strength and fitness. Good for overall health, joint flexibility, and cardiovascular functions. Emphasis is on meditation. Movements are slow and easy to perform. Learn the short, medium and long forms. Sword forms are based on Yang and Chen Styles of Tai Chi. Light Tai Chi wood practice swords are used in preparation for the eventual use of traditional metal swords. Qigong & Yang Tai Chi 55+ Focus

Level 2. Yang Tai Chi is a meditation art intended to promote the smooth flow of Chi (life force) throughout the body. Tai Chi is excellent for balance, flexibility, endurance, cardiovascular efficiency and muscle strength. It helps with arthritis and other problems associated with aging. The easy 24-movement Yang form is taught along with meditation sets based on the form and the Tai Chi Chi Kung 13-movement set. The Tai Chi ruler movement sets are also explored.
